Jumu’ah Khutba 3 – First Ramadhan

– opening in Arabic –

Dear brothers in Islam, first of all, I would like to remind myself and all of us to increase our iman and to thank Allah SWT for every ni’mah especially ni’mah Islam and iman so we can come to this Jumu’ah prayer. Allah SWT says in the Quran surah Ibrahim verse 7 “la insyakartum laazidannakum wa laa inkafartum inna ‘adzaabi lasyadid.” If we are thankful to Allah SWT, He will give us more and more ni’mah but if we deny, we have to remember that Allah’s will give us severe punishments. May peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad saw and his family, his followers. They spread Islam so we can know about Islam.

Today InsyaAllah ta’ala I would like share one ayah from surat Al Hujurat verse 13. Allah SWT says,

Inna khalaqnakum min zakarin wa untha, “We created you from one male and a female.” Wa ja’alnakum shu’ooban wa qabai’la li ta’arafu, “And made you peoples and nation so that you may identify each other.” Inna akramakum ‘ind-Allahi atqakum, “Indeed the best of you in the eyes of Allah are those who are God-fearing.”

There are people from Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Korea, and Indonesia. But, even we are coming from different nation, different skin color, in front of Allah, the only different is our taqwa. Allah SWT close that verse with very beautiful words, “Indeed the best of you in the eyes of Allah are those who are God-fearing, who are taqwa more to Allah SWT.”

One of the character of people of taqwa is sincere to Allah SWT. They are praying, fasting, making charity, because of Allah SWT only. So many people just perform good deed only want to be seen by people. May Allah protect us from that intention.

Alhamdulillah, today some muslims start fasting, and the other will start tomorrow. In this blessed month of Ramadhan some people recites Quran, making shadaqah, etc. But we have to remember, we should steadfast, istiqomah, not only in the month of Ramadhan but also in 11 other months. That’s also the point of sincerity. Taqwa not only in month of Ramadhan but also in 11 other months. As Rasulullah saw says in one hadeth narrated by Imam Tirmidzi, “Ittaqillah haitsu ma kunta.” Meaning, “Taqwa, fear Allah everywhere and whenever.”

Rasulullah saw also said in one hadeth narrated by Imam Muslim,

The first people to be judged on the Day of Judgement was martyred (syuhada). Allah asked him, “What have you done in the world?” The syuhada replied, “I fought for your religion.” Allah said, “You lie. You fought so that people will call you the dare one.” Finally, Allah put him in hell fire.

A seeker of knowledge that knowledge and diligent practice read the Qur’an comes before God. Allah asked, “What have you done in the world?” He replied, “I seek knowledge, act upon it, and I read the Qur’an because of Allah.”  Allah said, “You lie. You seek knowledge and you read Qur’an so that others call you religious people.” Finally, Allah put him in hell fire.

Further, one with a wealth of rich and famous because his charity come before God.  Allah asked, “What have you done in the world?” He replied, “I spent all the wealth that I have because of You.” God said, “You lie. You do it all so that people call you generous.” Finally, Allah put him in hell fire.

Rasulullah saw then said, “They are the first people to feel the heat of hell fire on the Day of Resurrection.”

So, may Allah bless us with the sincere heart and make us perform good deeds due to Allah SWT.

In this second khutba I would like remind myself and all of us to always renew our niyat, our intention. As Rasulullah saw said, “Innamal a’malu bin niyat.” Meaning , “The deeds depend on the intention.”

Syaitan will never stop whispering bad intention to our hearts. That’s why we have to more and more remember Allah SWT and renew our intention.

Jumu’ah Khutba 2

– opening in Arabic –

Dear brothers in Islam, I would like to remind myself and all of us to increase our iman, our taqwa, and to thank Allah SWT for every ni’mah especially ni’mah Islam and iman so we can come to this Jumu’ah prayer.

First and foremost, I would like to remind us about one ayah. Allah SWT said in the Quran surah Al Jumu’ah verse 9, “Ya ayyuhal ladzina amanu idza nudiya lishshalati miy yaumil jumu’ati fas’aw ila dzikrillah ..” Oo who you believe, when the Jumu’ah call is made rush, hurry to the remembrance of Allah SWT. It’s very interesting ayah. Instead of calling it “pray” or “khutba”, Allah SWT calls it “remembrance of Allah SWT”. So, the essence of the Jumu’ah prayer is what? The remembrance of Allah. So, when we walk to masjid from our home, from our work, we should remember  Allah SWT as many as possible. May Allah SWT bless us so we can always remember Him.

Today InsyaAllah ta’ala I would like share with you one real story. Once upon a time my Korean friend came to me and asked me on question. He said, “I do not believe in God. If God exists why there are so many people are suffering? Why there are diseases, earthquake, etc?”

Dear brothers in Islam, regarding to that question, Allah SWT already gave us the answer in the Quran. In Islam the concept of suffering is very beautiful. Allah SWT said that life is a test for us. Allah SWT wants to see our responses when He gives us test. Allah SWT says in surah Al Baqarah verse 214, “Am hasibtum an tadkhulul jannah wa lamma ya’tikum matsalul ladzina kholau min qablikum ..” Do you think that you will enter the jannah without such tests or trials as came to those who came before you?

Rasulullah saw said in one hadith narrated by Imam Mulim, “Strange is the affair of the Mu’min (the believers), verily all his affairs are good for him. If something pleasing befalls him he thanks to Allah and it becomes better for him. And if something harmful befalls him he is patient and it becomes better for him. And this is only for the Mu’min.” So, as a mu’min every condition that we are facing is good for us even when we are in hard time.

Jalaluddin Rumi once said that, “Suffering is a gift. In it is a hidden mercy.” Suffering teaches us patience, and it also teaches us Ridhaa, which is total reliance on Allah, and serene acceptance of whatever He has decreed. It teaches us to persevere, to work hard to seek Allah’s good pleasure, his Ridwaan. It teaches us humility, it teaches compassion for those less fortunate than ourselves.

May Allah SWT give us taufiq and guidance so we can be among of people of shabr (ash shabirin) and syukr (asy syakirin).

In this second khutba I would like remind all of of us, when we are facing a hard situation, put Allah in the first place. Do not forget to say, “Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un.” Indeed, everything belongs to Allah SWT and to Him all of things are return. Some people when in hardship put Allah SWT in the last palace. When they suffer, they emotions are controlled by nafs and syaithan. At that condition we have to compel our heart to remember Allah SWT by saying “Innalillahi wa ina ilaihi raji’un” and try to be patient.

Jumu’ah Khutba 1

Today InsyaAllah ta’ala I would like share with you one story of the shahabah. Once upon time when Prophet and shahabah ware seating in the masjid, one man passed through in front of the masjid. Prophet said to shahabah, “He is the man of jannah.” Shahabah were very curious and one of the shahabah followed him to his house and want to stay in his house for 3 days. For 3 days the shahabah saw nothing unusual. That man just pray, fasting, and made another ibadah just like other shahabah. So that shahabah finally told the man what the Prophet had said and asked him what was so special. The man thought for a long time and said, “I don’t know .. But, maybe one thing, before going to sleep every night I forgive everyone and sleep with a clean heart.”

As Allah SWT says in the Quran surah Ali Imran verse 133-134, Allah SWT provides the jannah for the people of taqwa. And one characteristic of these people is ‘afinaa ‘anin naas, forgive people. So we forgive people is not because he deserve to be forgiven but we forgive people because we want to be among of the people of taqwa and we want to enter jannah.

Forgiving people is not easy. We have to compel our heart, we have to train our heart to forgive people. In our life, when people communicate, maybe people don’t have any intention to say bad things or harsh words, but it sometimes really happen. When people say something that hurt our heart, we have to be patient, remember Allah SWT, and forgive their mistakes.

In one hadith narrated by Imam Tirmidzi, Prophet saw said that, “ittaqillaha haitsu ma kunta wa atbi’isy syayiati al hasanati tamhuha wa khaliqin naas bi khuluqin hasanin.” Our Prophet gave us message that we have to fear Allah, we have to taqwa to Allah SWT everywhere we are. So, when the people hurt our hearts, the one thing we should remember is ‘taqwa to Allah SWT.’ If we remember ‘taqwa to Allah SWT’ we will remember the characteristic of the people of taqwa, ‘afinaa ‘anin naas, forgive people.

May Allah SWT give us taufiq and guidance so we can increase our taqwa and easy to forgive people.

In this second khutba I would like deliver the other 2 messages from our Prophet saw, “wa atbi’isy syayiati al hasanati tamhuha wa khaliqin naas bi khuluqin hasanin.” Follow the bad deeds with the good deeds so the good deeds will erase the bad deeds. For example, when we hurt someone, we have to ask forgiveness from him, repent to Allah SWT, and to make a good deed like shadaqah. Those good deeds will erase the bad deeds. And the last message is “wa khaliqin naas bi khuluqin hasanin.” Deal with people with the good manners. Moreover we are brothers in Islam. We have to deal with our brothers with good way. We have to understand each other so we can increase our ukhuwah among us.

Hadiah Ramadhan: Buku Pertamaku

Konon, Imam Nawawi setiap hari menulis sekitar 40 halaman. AllahuAkbar!

is an enterprising individual who builds capital through risk and/or initiative.

Atau,

person who is willing to help launch a new venture or enterprise and accept full responsibility for the outcome.

Kemudian sewaktu kuliah aku mencoba jualan jasa, yaitu web developing/designing.

Setelah lulus kuliah aku bersama teman seperjuangan berjualan kaos. Continue reading
